Hello dear villagers! 🌿
Welcome to the Tool Tutorial – your central point of contact for everything related to tools and the bicycle shed.
You can borrow tools from the workshop—from hammers to drills. Every villager is allowed to borrow items from there in exchange for a deposit between 5 and 50€depending on the value of the tool. So it's best to bring some cash with you or be flexible enough to go and get it quickly. If you have the feeling that an important tool is missing, you can always express wishes, so that our shared inventory grows bit by bit. For a current overview you can find everything that is already available here on the village website. The workshop is located opposite House 20, right in the bicycle repair shop. If you want to borrow a bike, just let me know—we'll arrange individual appointments so that you can remain flexible.
If you don't want to leave your bike outside in the rain or snow, you can store it conveniently in the lockable bicycle shed. Access is via your own key, which you can request via the tool tutorial. There is a rental fee of 2.50€ per semester, which is paid in advance for 8/10 semesters. If you do not use the entire time, you will of course receive a pro-rata refund. The keys are kept by the administration (opening hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Once you have filled out your application with me, you can pick up the key there. The bicycle shed is located at the northwest corner of the village, at the intersection of Gutenbergstraße and Nohlstraße.
Whether you want to repair something, build something, or park your bike safely, the tool tutorial is there for you. Feel free to contact us anytime if you have any questions or requests.

Are you considering becoming a tool tutor in the student village yourself?
Then don't be put off, even if you don't have much experience with tools or repairs. Previous technical knowledge is welcome, but not a prerequisite. What's more important is that you're interested in these topics, want to try new things, and are eager to learn. The time commitment is very manageable at about one hour per week and can easily be fitted in alongside your studies or work.
As a tool tutor, you can provide advice and support to villagers with their projects while also implementing your own crafting or building ideas. In addition to access to a wide range of tools, you will receive an expense allowance of €26 per month (per semester). If you decide to serve for two semesters, you will also benefit from two additional semesters of accommodation in the village.
Interested? Then feel free to contact us with no obligation. We will show you how everything works and answer your questions at your convenience. This way, you can start as a new tutor feeling relaxed and well prepared!
