- The student village was built in 1961/1962 and is located on a hillside surrounded by greenery. Nevertheless, the city center, campus, and train station can be reached within 10 minutes by bike.
- From 1999 to 2002, the four high-rise buildings (buildings 10, 20, 30, and 40) underwent extensive renovation and were converted into apartment buildings.
- The residential complex has 32 small houses and four high-rise buildings.
- The village currently offers affordable accommodation to 491 students, making it one of the largest student residences in Göttingen.
- The living space is divided into 357 single rooms (only in the small houses), 119 single apartments with private bathrooms and shared kitchens (only in the high-rise buildings), four single apartments with private bathrooms and kitchens (only in House 40), four double apartments (only in the high-rise buildings), and one apartment for groups of three (in the communal house).
- Right next door is the sports institute with a fitness center, climbing facility, golf course, and several sports fields for soccer, basketball, etc.
- The student village is largely self-administrated.
